TRC Electronics Attends the 2025 MEAN WELL Distributor Conference and Celebrates Strategic Growth

Earlier this month, our team at TRC Electronics proudly participated in the 2025 MEAN WELL Distributor Conference, held June 4–5 at the Ritz-Carlton in Philadelphia. This annual event brought together MEAN WELL’s global network of partners for two days of high-level collaboration, insight sharing, and forward-looking strategy. As a long-standing distributor and strategic partner, TRC was honored to contribute and engage in meaningful dialogue that will shape the future of our shared success.

Aligning for the Future: Sales, Roadmaps, and Global Insight

The conference agenda was rich with substance. Key sessions included reviews of global and North American sales results, updates on product roadmaps, and deep dives into evolving market trends. It was a vital opportunity for distributors like TRC to align with MEAN WELL’s strategic direction and reaffirm our commitment to delivering power supply solutions that meet the changing needs of the global electronics industry.

Navigating Tariffs Through Global Manufacturing Strategy

Among the most critical and widely discussed topics was the impact of U.S. tariffs on Chinese-manufactured goods — a key challenge for the electronics supply chain. MEAN WELL shared its multi-pronged strategy to mitigate the financial pressure of these tariffs by expanding and diversifying its global manufacturing footprint.

While MEAN WELL operates two major factories in Suzhou and Guangzhou, China, the company is actively transitioning production of many popular models to its other facilities, including:

  • Its headquarters in Taiwan

  • An expanding facility in the Philippines

  • Its newest manufacturing site in India

This strategy allows MEAN WELL to maintain pricing competitiveness and supply reliability while reducing dependency on tariff-affected regions.

As part of these conversations, TRC President Stephen Lagomarsino learned from MEAN WELL Founder Mr. Jerry Lin that certain product lines — particularly those manufactured at the fully automated Suzhou facility — are more difficult to relocate. The reason: MEAN WELL has made a significant investment in highly specialized automation equipment at this site, making production transfer to other regions complex and cost-prohibitive. This underscores the delicate balance between efficiency, capital investment, and global manufacturing flexibility — a key theme woven throughout the week’s discussions.

Strategic Leadership: The North American Advisory Board

On June 4th, Stephen Lagomarsino participated in the MEAN WELL North American Advisory Board meeting — a key leadership forum composed of just three distributor representatives from across North America. As a founding member, Stephen helped provide MEAN WELL leadership with critical market feedback, strategic recommendations, and product-level insights designed to shape future planning and innovation.

Mr. Jerry Lin’s personal participation in the advisory meeting emphasized MEAN WELL’s dedication to maintaining close, transparent, and high-value relationships with its key partners.

Celebrating Growth: The New Jersey Service Center Grand Opening

Another highlight of the week was the grand opening of MEAN WELL’s New Jersey Service Center — a significant investment in local service infrastructure that will bring faster support and improved logistics to North American customers.

To mark the occasion, attendees participated in a tree planting ceremony, a powerful symbol of both environmental stewardship and MEAN WELL’s long-term commitment to the U.S. market. TRC was proud to be part of this meaningful moment, reinforcing our shared mission of sustainable growth and partnership.
